Special Session #1Intelligent Software and Knowledge Representation

Introduction

Nowadays there are many practical applications in Artificial Intelligence and the Internet. The Intelligent Software has been created to better serve the increasing needs of the people. These kinds of software have been applied in a wide range of areas such as Expert Systems, Intelligent Problems Solver, Decision Support Systems and another Intelligent Systems. Knowledge Representation (KR) and Reasoning are exciting and well- established fields of research in  Intelligent Software. KR is key drivers of innovation in computer science. In recent years, KR has also derived challenges from new and emerging fields including the semantic web, computational biology, and the development of software agents.

This special session aims to bring together researchers and developers with all these different backgrounds to discuss and exchange new ideas and the latest achievements in building Intelligent Software and methods for KR. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

Special Session #2: Spatial Data Science and Technology

Introduction

KSE 2018 special session on Spatial Data Science and Technology (STATS) serves as a forum for scientific exchanges and technology transfer between researchers, managers and industrial sectors. STATS will focus on advanced developments of spatial data science and technology to address issues related to natural and social worlds. Researchers are welcome to submit papers on theoretical or empirical works, or surveys of recent and future trends in spatial data science and technology. Relevant topics for KSE-STATS 2018 include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Spatial data acquisition: Remote Sensing, UAV, Sensor Networks, Field Survey
  • Spatial Data standardization and representation
  • Spatial Database and Spatial Data Warehouse
  • Spatial Data Analysis and Applications

Special Session #3: Deep Learning and Applications to Language Processing

Introduction

The session focuses on developing deep learning models and applications to real-world problems relevant to the field of language processing. Deep learning has made many breakthroughs in various areas of computer science such as computer vision, speech, and natural language processing (NLP). In the last few years, various models have been proposed for different data representations make deep learning transited successfully from research to applications. In the context of this session, we will explore and discuss both new models and applications of deep learning in natural, programming language, and speech processing. This session will be conducted to:

  • Develop a community of researchers working on deep learning and its applications in practice,
  • Discuss state of the art and future directions of deep learning,
  • Bring collaboration opportunities.
